There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
Romans 8:1 describes those in Christ as walking not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-17 reveals the struggle behind that walk. The flesh and the Spirit desire contrary things, calling us to choose which one we follow.
